For Patients

If you are booked for an audiology evaluation, please complete your preliminary documentation prior to arrival to streamline your appointment.

No Referral Needed: You can book an audiology assessment directly without a doctor’s referral. (A valid referral from a GP or Specialist is only required if you intend to claim a Medicare rebate).
Appointment Tip: Please arrive 5–10 minutes early if you need assistance completing documentation in clinic.

GPs and specialists can refer patients directly for diagnostic audiology testing or combined ENT-audiology consultations using our secure digital channels:

Medicare Rebates: Diagnostic audiology requested by a medical practitioner with a valid referral enables eligible patients to claim Medicare rebates.

Diagnostic Testing & Services

Pure Tone Audiometry Air and bone conduction testing to evaluate hearing thresholds across standard speech and high frequencies.
Paediatric Audiology Hearing evaluations for children aged 7 years and older. We are currently expanding our facility to offer full Visual Reinforcement Orientation Audiometry (VROA) services for infants and younger toddlers soon.
Tympanometry & Reflexes Middle ear function assessments to detect fluid (eustachian tube dysfunction), eardrum perforation, or ossicular issues.
Speech Discrimination Evaluating speech clarity and word recognition ability in quiet and noisy listening environments.

Fees & Medicare Rebates

Audiology assessments performed in conjunction with an ENT specialist consultation are billed transparently. While a medical referral is not required to book or undergo an audiology workup at Chatswood ENT, a valid referral from a GP or Specialist is mandatory if you wish to claim an eligible Medicare rebate for your testing.
